Below we chat with Stacey about what makes her tick, how she stays so organised while juggling many balls in the air, some top tips for wedding couples aswell as some of her most loved suppliers in the industry x

5 fun facts about you!

  • Girl loves her white fluffy animals, we have a Goldie named Teddy and two Birman boys, Archie and Alfie

  • Espresso Martini is 1000% my ‘signature’ cocktail haha

  • I love cars! My dad had many, many vintage cars while I was growing up, and the sound of a v8 engine at a wedding makes my eyes light up!

  • Softball was my favorite sport as a kid, I was a pretty slick ‘pitcher’ in my hay day.

  • I had a coordinator at my own wedding…. That’s how important they are!

You’re married to your lovely hubby Scott, what is one piece of advice you would you give to a newly engaged couple as a planner & having been through the journey yourself ?

  • Don’t let the wedding ‘takeover’ your life! I know, I know, it’s SO EXCITING! But it’s just the start of your journey together. Don’t stress about the florals over dinner every night. Have dedicated planning time, and then switch off and continue to enjoy the reasons why you're choosing to get married in the first place.

You’ve worked with The Wedding Collab for a few years now, what do you love about your role with them?

  • Time flys! Wow! I cannot believe we are heading into our 3rd season together!? The variety is really, really epic. Across the venues in Auckland, Rotorua and Queenstown in particular, there is such a variety of styling within the properties. They each have their own special flair, and the world quite literally can be your oyster in terms of how you choose to make them your own. I mean come on, dazzling city lights, mountains AND lake views at QT Queenstown, the best barn venue and water views you may have ever seen at The Black Barn, Lake Tarawera, epic harbour views and city lights Rydges Auckland’s Rooftop Terrace and the most epic resort vibes at Rydges Formosa Golf Resort. Stop it. Amazing. Don’t even get me started on the quirky, intimate spaces at the QT Auckland & QT Wellington properties! There is truly something for everyone.

Let’s talk suppliers - who would be your most loved supplier in our industry & why?

  • This is a hard one Nic! To be totally honest, I love collaborating and supporting new people entering the business, as well as continuing to refer to those businesses we love, know and trust. Being a small business myself only launching about 2.5 years ago, it really is the connections you build that help you grow and succeed. To name a couple of businesses that I do love working with at our busiest venue (Formosa Golf Resort) would be, Samal the Wedding Designer (love your work Samal) and Lucy’s (the most insanely beautiful marquees that work SO well at our Beachlands property in Auckland - Rydges Formosa).

  • We also work nationwide with DJ4You, we’ve worked with them for years now & love their great business model, efficiency & reliability of the DJ’s they offer across all of our venues.

You juggle a lot in your life/ own business (STAC EVENT’S) & working with TWC across our venues, this takes a lot of organization & planning!

What’s your top tips to being organized??

  • Variety is the spice of life isn’t it!? I’ve always been all go really, love to keep busy and the juggle can be really rewarding. It comes down to keeping things simple, working in order of priority. As wedding dates approach, different couples need different levels of assistance, so my days are planned around who needs what help and how quickly. I also just don’t muck around, staying focused and blocking out distractions and having something to also look forward to, to ‘reward’ myself after a busy day, week, month! Even if that’s as simple as taking Teddy to the beach, coffee with a friend, or some retail therapy. It also helps when you LOVE what you do, I’m not really working, it feels more like a hobby for the majority! x

THANK YOU STACEY - We absolutely love working with you here at The Wedding Collab, we are always in awe of your hard work, dedication and passion in life and business Xx
